Overview

Marina Jack lies on the Sarasota bayfront, with the Sarasota Bay mooring field and its mooring balls alongside. The marina has fixed and floating docks, 30, 50 and 100 amp single and three phase shore power, fresh water and cable at the slip, and over 25 boat lifts for vessels up to 53 ft.

90% of the slips are open to the public on a first come, first served basis. The rest go by reservation, on a form the marina asks you to send back by e-mail. The office is open seven days a week, 8:00 to 17:00, on 941-955-9488.

How many slips? The marina publishes two numbers

The marina's own docking page gives two counts for the same marina. In one place it counts 298 wet slips for vessels up to 150 ft; further down, where it writes about annual tenants, it names 316 slips. Both sentences stand on the same page of the same operator, and this guide does not pick one.

Which number matters depends on what you are asking for. For a night alongside it does not; for an annual berth it might. The marina answers on 941-955-9488, seven days a week between 8:00 and 17:00.

Fuel and pump-out

The fuel dock sells hi-flow diesel and 90 octane recreational gasoline, and fuelling after hours works with a credit card or a house account card.

Pump-out is available in the slip. Ashore there are pump-out stations on all three sides of the fuel dock, free to the public.

Ashore

Showers and restrooms are climate-controlled, there is a launderette, complimentary wireless internet, the marina's own service department and four dining options at the Marina Jack Restaurant.

For the town around it the Coast Pilot gives the wider picture: the small-craft facilities in Sarasota provide berths with electricity, gasoline, diesel fuel, water, ice, storage, a pump-out station and launching ramps.
