Overview
Dinner Key is the City of Miami's mooring field, off Coconut Grove. How many moorings there are depends on which city page you read: the marina's own page says over 250, the city's list of its marinas says 250. Both pages are the city's, so this page carries both figures rather than choosing one. The field takes vessels up to 50 feet length overall.
The marina beside the field is the bigger half of the operation, and the sources part company there too. The city's list of marinas counts 587 wet slips; Coast Pilot 4 describes berthage for 370 boats on five piers with water and electrical connections. Neither figure helps a visitor at the moment, because the marina says all of its slips are full and on an annual contract.
Getting in
Two channels lead in from the waterway, and both are marked. The depths on record are old: Coast Pilot 4 gives a reported controlling depth of 7 feet in the channel and 8 feet in the basin, and 5 to 8 feet alongside the piers. Those are figures reported in 1998, not a survey of today.
What a mooring costs
The marina's own page names no figure. It links the city marina rates instead, and no source we read ties a rate to this harbor on its own, so this page gives none. The office has the number: (305) 329-4755, 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.
