Overview

Indiantown Marina sits at Mile 29.5 on the north side of the St. Lucie Canal, between the St. Lucie Lock and the lake. It is a storage yard and boatyard rather than a resort: 34 full facility slips, 7 floating dock slips, two travel lifts at 30 and 50 tons, and a do-it-yourself work yard beside a full service department. The yard describes its own position as on the canal that links Stuart on the east coast to Fort Myers on the west coast via Lake Okeechobee.

Coast Pilot 4 reports a 50-ton marine lift here, along with berths with electricity, gasoline, diesel fuel, water, ice, a pump-out station and a launching ramp. In 2006 the Coast Pilot reported a controlling depth of 8 feet in the entrance and in the basin – a figure from that year, not a survey of today.

Hauling out and working on the boat

This is a yard where owners may do their own work. Haul or launch is $6.00 per foot each way and blocking another $6.00 per foot; stepping or unstepping a mast is $100 each way. Storage length is charged on the manufacturer's stated hull length rather than length overall, which is unusual enough to be worth checking against your papers before quoting.

There are 19 campsites with full hookups at $35.00 a day, so a crew can live ashore while the boat is out. Showers, laundry, fresh water, dry storage, marine supplies, waterproof charts and free Wi-Fi are on site, and the yard monitors channel 16.

Good to know

  • Length is measured the maker's way. Storage is charged on the manufacturer's stated hull length, not length overall – so bowsprit and davits do not count here the way they do at a mooring field.
  • The depth figure is from 2006. Coast Pilot 4 reports a controlling depth of 8 feet in the entrance and in the basin, reported in 2006. Nothing newer is published for this basin.
  • Rates date from February 2025. The yard's rate sheet is marked effective 1 February 2025 and subject to change without notice. Confirm on 772-597-2455 before you count on a figure.
