Overview

Halifax Harbor Marina is the City of Daytona Beach's marina on the Halifax River, professionally managed by F3 Marina. It has 550 slips on a 60-acre property, split between a South Basin on floating docks and a North Basin on fixed docks. The marina states that 90% of its slips are available to the general public on a first come, first served basis.

The fuel dock is 300 ft of floating concrete and sells gas and diesel, with a $0.05 per gallon discount for Boat U.S. and Sea Tow members. Ashore there are five bathhouses with washers and dryers in each, a boaters' lounge for 49 occupants, eight public launch ramps and free Wi-Fi throughout.

What it costs

A short stay of 7 days or less is $2.25 per ft per day, or $12.00 per ft per week; after 7 consecutive days a pro-rated rate of $2.00 applies. Monthly and annual slips start at a minimum vessel length of 30 ft: $11.00 per ft per month in the South Basin for 6 calendar months or more, $10.00 per ft per month on an annual contract on the South Basin floating docks, and $9.00 per ft per month on an annual contract on the North Basin fixed docks. Living aboard costs $90.00 a month, and the marina says the spots for it are limited.

Electricity is billed on top: 30 amp at $6.00 a day, $36.00 a week or $40.00 a month, and 50 amp at $10.00 a day, $60.00 a week or $82.00 a month. The North Basin has 240 of the 50 amp outlets.

One caution about the scale above. The marina's own rate table has further monthly steps whose length of stay it states inconsistently — the same row is labelled in two incompatible ways — so those rows are not reproduced here. If your stay falls between a week and six months, ask the office for the figure in writing rather than reading it off the table.

Rules on the dock

Three of the marina's house rules catch visiting boats most often. All vessels must be equipped to comply with the Florida Clean Vessels Act. Pressure washers of any kind are prohibited for cleaning or preparing an exterior vessel surface. And waste oil and oil filters go into the recycling igloos in the North Basin, not anywhere else.
